chunks of ice floating near Australia

A giant chunk of ice found floating near Australia. Researchers from the Australian Antarctic Division, who worked at Macquarie Island, said chunks of ice began to appear Thursday (12/11), approximately five miles from the island. They stated, very rarely can a floating chunk of ice away from the north pole.
Macquarie Island is situated in the middle between Antarctica and Australia, about 930 miles from Tasmania. Chunks of ice the height reaches 50m and 500m long.
One researcher, Neal Young suspect that icebergs from the Antarctic ice collapse of the summit between 2000 and 2002. Some chunks of ice and then drifted into the northern region, but very rarely reach warm waters near Australia.
Neal Young added, chunks of ice would melt quickly, but remain dangerous for ships passing nearby.
At the 2000 peak of ice in Antarctica collapsed and caused a chunk of ice with a length of 300 kilometers and 37 kilometers wide. This is still a floating ice shelf in Antarctica.
The findings of this iceberg mengudang parties comments pro and con with climate change issues. Some states chunk of ice shows that the temperature of the world's growing colder. While others argue this is because icebergs rising global temperatures and trigger the collapse of an ice mountain in Antarctica.
Results in the United States a recent survey conducted by the Pew Research Centre showed that only 57 percent of respondents who believe that Earth's temperature continues to meningkar, while only one in three people who believe that humans cause climate change.
In most of Antarctica, the ice thickness decreases since 2003. Depletion layer of ice from 2003 to 2007 reached 50 percent higher than in 1995 until 2003.
